Guinea Pig Care Checklist

This guinea pig care checklist details the tasks you should be undertaking and how often you should perform them to give your guinea pig the perfect care.

Daily

• Change the water
• Clean the food bowls and remove any uneaten fresh food
• Check the bedding is sufficient
• Brush your guinea pig (only required daily if you are showing your animal)
• Give it a health check - is he as active as he was yesterday?

Weekly

• Give the cage a thorough clean
• Clean the water bottle
• Clean out all bowls

Occasional

• Brush your pig - a good opportunity to check his health
• Clip his nails (or get a vet to do this for you)
• Give your guinea pig a bath
